Nosacare Infant
Nosacare Infant has a vasoconstrictive effect, reduces nasal mucosa swelling and restores free nasal breathing. As such, Nosacare Infant facilitates opening and expansion of the paranasal sinuses and pharyngotympanic tube. As the result, it improves secretion drainage and restores aeration of the paranasal sinuses and middle ear cavity to prevent bacterial complications (maxillary sinusitis, sinusitis, otitis media).
The active substance is oxymetazoline. 1 ml of solution contains 0.1 mg of oxymetazoline hydrochloride.
Other excipients are: purified water, glycerin, sodium citrate, citric acid monohydrate, benzalkonium chloride.
Recommended dose for children under 4 weeks of age: 1 drop of Nosacare Infant in each nasal passage 2-3 times daily.
Starting from the 5th week of life to 1 year of age: 1–2 drops in each nasal passage 2-3 times daily.
Clear the nasal passages before and 5 minutes after using the drug product. Open the bottle, draw the required amount of the solution into the dropper. Tilt the child’s head backward, gently place the dropper tip into one nasal passage, put one drop, and gently tilt the head from side to side several times. Then repeat the procedure for the other nasal passage. After use, clean the dropper tip with a pad and close the bottle.
Alternative effective procedure: according to the child’s age, apply 1–2 drops of the solution to a piece of cotton wool and wipe the nasal passages.
The treatment course is not more than 7 days.
Nosacare Infant is used in children under 1 year of age for:
- impaired nasal airflow in acute rhinitis, allergic rhinitis, or vasomotor rhinitis;
- restoring drainage in inflammation of the paranasal sinuses, eustachitis, and otitis media.
- reducing swelling before diagnostic procedures in nasal passages.
Prescription status:
Over-the-counter.
Do not use Nosacare Infant in conditions such as:
- allergy to oxymetazoline or any other components of the product (listed in Composition section of the leaflet);
- atrophic rhinitis;
- angle-closure glaucoma;
- condition after transsphenoidal hypophysectomy or other surgical procedures that could cause dural damage.
