Azicare No.6
The active ingredient of Azicare is azithromycin. Azithromycin penetrates well into the sites of infection, such as the lungs, tonsils, or prostate gland, where it creates a long-lasting high concentration. This property ensures Azicare ability to efficiently treat infections caused by susceptible micro-organisms.
It inhibits the growth of susceptible bacteria and other micro-organisms that cause infections.

The dosage regimen is determined on an individual basis according to the age, body weight, renal function, and infection severity.
For upper and lower respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections (except erythema chronicum migrans)
Children weighing 45 kg or more and adults, including elderly patients: 500 mg once daily for 3 days or 500 mg daily on the first day and 250 mg daily for the next 4 days. The dose for the course of treatment is 1500 mg.
For uncomplicated urogenital tract infections
Uncomplicated chlamydia infection: the total dose is 1000 mg (2 capsules) taken once. Uncomplicated gonorrheal urethritis and cervicitis: 1000 mg to 2000 mg (2-4 capsules) taken once in combination with ceftriaxone according to local clinical treatment guidelines.
For Lyme disease (borreliosis) early stage (Erythema migrans)
Adults: 1 g (2 capsules of 500 mg or 4 capsules of 250 mg) on day 1 and 500 mg daily from day 2 to day 5 (the dose for the course of treatment is 3 g).
Azicare is indicated for treatment of inflammatory infections caused by susceptible pathogens:
- upper respiratory infections and ENT-organ infections (bacterial pharyngitis/tonsillitis, sinusitis, otitis media) and lower respiratory infections (bronchitis, bacterial pneumonias);
- skin and soft tissue infections (erysipelas, impetigo, secondarily-infected dermatoses, erythema chronicum migrans – the early stage of Lyme disease);
- urogenital tract infections (uncomplicated urethritis and/or cervicitis caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Chlamydia trachomatis);
- stomach and duodenal diseases associated with Helicobacter pylori.
Prescription status:
Prescription only medicine.
- allergy to azithromycin or any other components of the product listed in section 6 of the package leaflet, allergy to macrolide antibiotics (e.g. clarithromycin, erythromycin) or ketolides;
- if you have severely impaired liver function;
- if you take ergotamine derivatives.
